OUR LAKE.
A MIRROR OF POETRY AND TRADITION.
Le Betulle stands on a promontory close to the road leading to San Maurizio d’Opaglio. Le Betulle, suspended between water and sky, enjoys a wonderful view over Lake of Orta and is surrounded by a luxuriant birch wood from which it took its name 40 years ago.
Within a short distance one can discover the mystic splendour of the Island of San Giulio and take a stroll around the town of Orta, a gem of art and history embraced by nature and water, once protagonist of the works of great writers such as Balzac, Ragazzoni and Montale.
Worth the while is also a visit to the Calderara Foundation (with a collection of works by Fontana, Pomodoro and other 130 artists), the numerous museums preserving the memoires of ancient professions (the Ethnographic and Wind Instrument Museum, the Umbrella Museum, the Tap Museum) and many other treasures.
